Experience the healing power of horses.

Make a connection to heal mind, body and spirit.

“The work of Equine Facilitated Mental Health/Education Services is far deeper than merely connecting people and horses: it is about connecting people to themselves, and the inner wisdom that is desperately trying to be heard. Through connection with horses, we find our way. We find the strength and the passion to step forward and bring about change, in our lives, and in the world.”

What is Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

Equine-assisted psychotherapy incorporates horses as partners in the therapeutic process. People engage in activities such as grooming, leading, and interacting in the herd while being guided by a mental health professional. Horses are extremely sensitive to mood and energy, and provide non-judgemental feedback and awareness to help people process emotional challenges. Equine-assisted therapy is more experiential than the traditional talk therapy, and is effective in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

What we offer:

Equus North Therapy, LLC offers sessions at Acorn Hill Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies in Motley, MN. We specialize in Gestalt Therapy: a humanistic, holistic, person-centered form of psychotherapy that focuses on the here and now. It encompasses not only ourselves, but how we relate to our environment and the other beings around us. Horses partner with us in therapy sessions and offer a healing presence and help bring awareness of emotions and thoughts through the way they relate with us.

“Everything flows when you find mental well-being.”

— Fritz Perls, founder of Gestalt Therapy
